Help, are fairy wrasses mean?

Has anyone have a fairy wrasse attack a fire fish?
I thought all my fish were getting along so well.
They have been in the same tank for 3 months with no issues. Then one night when the white light went out (usually all fish but my Tang would hide) the fairy wrasse started chasing the fire fish. Then today I seen it laying on the bottom of my tank with all of its find chewed up. Do I need more aggressive fish for my tank? I still have one fire fish.

What kind of Fairy Wrasse do you have? Some can be aggressive, but in my experience most aren't unless you have two of the same species.

It's a lubbock fairy wrasse.
I'm not sure that is spelled right.
Could it be the fire fish and the wrasse wanted the same hole?

My red velvet fairy wrasse is a straight up murderer. It all depends on the fish, mine is a real jerk.
