I recently had to move a blasto down to the sand bed and it's not happy in the least. I've moved it to move flow, less flow, more light , less light, inspected for vermited snails and other pest. SO far this thing in the sand appears to be the only thing toughing it. What is this and is this what's hurting my Blasto?

Spaghetti worm tentacles I believe. Generally they're harmless, or at least i've never heard of them bothering corals.

Ugh.... I was hoping it was but I have Acan's on the bottom and they seem fine. I have lots of blasto's scattered in the tank, all are growing and healthy.

IME I remove those as they tend to cause certain corals to close partially. Zoas etc. Not really harming them but they won't open fully.

get a wrasse

They dont hurt corals but I have a small one that nested in a bit of GSP. You can tell because the patch where it is has slightly smaller polyps since they don't open all the way. Otherwise they're harmless and good CUC

#reefsquad I'm going backwards, probably less than a day to save. I think I found the source and if you look close you'll see a scar just above the mouth. I think the blasto colony got stung by a Vermetid snail and it's slowly dying from the wounds. Can you recommend a treatment for burned coral from stings like vermetid snails? I've moved it away from the snail and super glued it shut too. :(

@Leadfooted vermetids don't actually sting. They release a mucus string that acts like flypaper to catch particulate food in the water column. The only reason it bothers corals is because something is comping into physical contact with the polyps. It's pretty much the same thing as if you were to leave a piece of floss on your corals. I think that its something in your water that you might not be testing for (some sort of trace element) or maybe lighting/flow
