I went to my dads and I ask my mom to turn off the light to my qt tank and she unplugged the extension cord (with the heater) I came back to treat them and ALL THE FISH were pretty gray in color. I am assuming it’s the freezing temps but also these are all the fish from my display tank except a few so they can’t die because I don’t want that and because that’s a LOT of money. I’m trying to warm it back up.

The qt tank is inside a bath tub so I can fill the bath with warm water to heat it up if you think that could work.

Just turning everything on as soon as possibly is the best you can do.
I’ve had that mistake a few times - once the equipment is up and running the fish start to do better.

Turn heating up in house or at least room where qt tank is and turn heater on and powrrheads and all life support equipment for qt.can wrap blanket around qt tank but don't seal top completely as need get some 02 in tank from surface agitation if all equipment been off for some time.
Could fill bath up with warm water but personally wouldn't do that as could make water to hot in Bath tub itself and have more problems than you got now.

But as already said what's temp of qt water and how long all equipment Been off is the main question ,you want to bring water back to correct temp but not so quickly .could boil sone rodi water and put in sealed bottles and place floating in water of qt also but make sure can get that surface agitation for gas exchange.
Fish looking grey is fish highly stressed and stress colours on

I don’t have a thermometer on the tank because it was just a qt tank and I didn’t want to spend much on it and the heater is a preset one so it also stays at 78 degrees but I thought most all of them were died which is why I made this tread but they seems more active. I just want someone with more experience to tell me how to handle an emergency situation where the fish are in 65 degree water.

but they were in that cold water for 12 hour since the heater was off not included the time it took the water to get to that temp.

Thank you guys so much for all of the help I think I got it. I just did want to lose all my fish and money today.
