I've had this issue for quite sometime, it's getting out of hand, coral, rock everything covered in hydroids. Help! I don't know what to do at this point.

If they're that bad then the only sure fire way is to remove the rock.
Others have tried, Kalk Paste, AptasiaX, Super Glue Gel.
Doesn't matter how old the tank is.

If it's myrionema hydroid , only way is to remove rock. I've tried all sorts of stuff and that's been the proven way for me at least

There Is a nudi branch that eats them but they are impossible to find. Some guy in Japan had them back in 2005

I had them in my tank for awhile, probably 2 years or so. The Myrionema flavor.

They'd taken over a small area of rock and then began popping up in small isolated areas all over the tank. Introduced on a base rock from a LFS. Be careful when picking up coral frags or rocks because these are very common in well established 'older' tanks at your LFS.

Observed them stinging zoanthids and button polyps. Eventually caused a colony to recede until I took measures to remove them from the rock. Used a razor and scrapped the rock bare in that area, then washed in RO water. They didn't come back on that specific piece.

They eventually died out, either by the introduction of several different species of hermit crab, or by an Alk spike that had an impact my tank last Winter. I'm glad they're gone regardless of how/why they died out.

Some folks recommend starving them out. I've found no conclusive evidence that invertebrates or fish will get rid of them.

Try to use kalk powder on the colony. Like aptesia its working. Three days. Work for me.
