As long as it eats and happy, it might surprise you and live a long lifeRecently my Chromis has started developing a very crooked spine at the base of his tail. Any ideas as to why or how I can help him?

Ok. Thanks. Was concerned it might be contagious but everyone else looks good.Scoliosis in fishes is not uncommon or reversible. I don’t think it’s contagious either.
Oh it’s eating. Just having a hard time swimming in the current. As long as it eats and happy, it might surprise you and live a long life![]()
You could turn current down to suit this fish as long as nothing else will be effected, or see if it will adjust and move away from current. Hard to say without knowing your system, size, wavemakers, other inhabitantsOh it’s eating. Just having a hard time swimming in the current.

I usually only see the tank early in the morning and the evening when things are settling down. After watching on the weekend, the fish seems to be doing fine. Just swims a little funny. You could turn current down to suit this fish as long as nothing else will be effected, or see if it will adjust and move away from current. Excellent. Fingers crossed. If the fish is still eating and swimming fine, it will live. I have a giant danio with a similar problem - I would have expected it to die years ago but it’s still kicking.
