Help blue hippo tang keeps rubbing itself on the rock

Well my blue hippo tang keeps rubbing himself on rocks. This is my first tang. I got him from my Lfs 4 days ago. The guy there said that these tangs usually act weird. So is this normal weird blue tang behavior or something else like ich or velvet. He looks fine and eats like a pig on anything. He is very active and normal except for the rubbing. He is currently in a 10 gal quarantine tank. I haven’t started treatment yet but intended to do two rounds of prazi pro and then possibly copper. The lfs said he was treated with copper and prazi.

Vid doesn’t work for me, but rubbing on things is usually something parasitic bothering them. No dark/light spots or anything?

Blue tangs will rub with no apparent issue. But since it is not QT I would suspect it is infected. QT with copper

It is their nature to hide within rocks and at times they twitch against rocks, HOWEVER this could also be an indication of Flukes.
A freshwater dip will confirm if flukes or not using the same temp as display tank for about 5 minutes and then looking on bottom of container for what looks like sesame seeds or fish scales which would be flukes.

Thanks probably give it a try when I dip should I aerorate it or will the fish be fine with no water movement

Fish will be fine
Add a pinch of baking soda to neutralize ph

I got the video to play, yes, it is scratching too much for it just to be an "itch". Gill flukes can cause that with no external symptoms. A FW dip will help relieve the symptoms, and then two prazipro treatments, with good aeration, done 10 days apart will help. During that time, since it is a bare tank, you would siphon off the bottom often, replacing it with new sea water. That helps remove any flukes eggs that may be present (some flukes give birth to live young though).

A big thanks to everyone this information really helped. A quick update update I just finished giving my tang a fw dip and did a water change about 20 min ago. He ended up having flukes so now I’ll be starting treatment with prazi soon.
