Common bristleworm. While not welcomed in my tanks are desired by many as they eat uneaten food and detritus and regarded as cleaner crew. They are harmless until you touch them

I don’t want much more. Will a boxer shrimp do a good job getting rid of some of them?
yes and it will also attack your small fish. Printedreef sells a trap that works well if you want to remove them. Although I'd suggest leaving them as they are a valuable cleanup crew member.

They really are ok to have in a tank ? Huh. My tank has been having brown algae issues lately. I have very low maintenance due to working a lot but i always make sure that the water quality is ok for me two clowns, the blenny and pistol/ goby pair. Had the pistol/goby pair the longest and they love it in there I’m guessing there always playing in the sand

Yes.

There is another species of worm (Hermodice carunculata) known as the 'Bearded Fireworm' that looks a bit similar, but is much rarer and eats corals and other reef animals, hence the 'Bristleworms = Bad' thing.

This is the 'bad' guy:

Welcome to the wonderful world of reef critters!
There is nothing wrong with bristleworms and they are a valuable part of your clean up crew. As others have said, you almost surely have more than one and it's extremely unlikely you can find them all. Just don't overfeed and their population won't grow too large.

Feed less and there population will be in control. They may be eating something like detritus or fish food. They r good guys but sometimes there population blasts.
