Ok so I’ve been running a 36g bowfront for a little over a year now with just a small hob as filtration now skimmer nothing. I’m looking to upgrade to a sump here soon. I’m going to start off real cheap and work my way up. Was looking for recommendations on some of the cheapest returns, skimmers, filter socks etc. like I said the cheapest that’s worth the buck

I did a DIY 10 gal (Petco $10 deal). First section has filter sock, heater and the pump and lines for an external BRS GFO/Carbon reactor. Middle section has a DIY eggcrate basket of rubble rock. Last section has a sicce return pump and BRS DIY ATO.
I kept the HOB as my cheato/pod farm for the mandarin.
MY DT is 29gal.
