My mag is at 1500 and all of a sudden my calcium is stuck at 470. I have not been dosing calcium in over a week. I used to dose 70 along with my alkalinity at 80. Should I do a water change to lower mag? Should I change out some tank water with straight R/O/ Salinity .026-.027 I am using ESV Bioinc.? My all is 8.5

Are you sure of your test? just checkin.....
I would not do anything different.
You are no longer dosing the calcium part, just alk if i'm reading you correctly.
The MSDS does not say if the Alk part contains Mag. I would doubt it would.
Calcium should fall as well as mag.
Your mag is high but not that bad.

The magnesium keep precipitation from happening. It keeps too much calcium and alkalinity from bonding together which allows it to be taken up by the corals. There is an ionic balance to where too high of one part can throw off the balance of the second part. Your higher magnesium concentration can have something to do with it. If you decide to do a water change or exchange tank and RO water, do it slowly. I’ve made the mistake of freaking out and trying to get things back in line only to shock my system and have other problems.
