I’ve got a used Apex Classic that I picked up used with my tank. The display module is shot but I have been able to access the classic dashboard through my Windows PC browser. While I can see the status of everything, I cannot get a token to connect to the Apex Fusion app on my phone/table through the browser. I think I need to to a full factory reset on the system but con’t figure out a way to do it without the display module. Has anyone done this before!? I would really appreciate the help!

You need to use the flash utility to find the ip address then access the classic dashboard. Click on the views or layouts tab and cycle through them till you find one that has link to fusion in the top left.

I was able to do all of that but the Fusion is already linked to the old owner’s account, so it just says that the Fusion connection is OK. It doesn’t allow me to click to get a token or give me an option of performing a factory reset...

You have to initialize the apex. Using the classic web navigate to config -> misc setup -> initialize memory -> initialize all

Will take a min or two

Good luck ! Happy reefing

Try this:

Go the the Authorization page in Fusion. If you see two Owners listed:
  • Go back to the Apex List page
  • Click the gear icon
  • Click Remove, and enter your password when prompted
  • Wait about 5 minutes
  • Re-Link your Apex
  • Go to the the Authorization page in Fusion; you should only see yourself listed as Owner.

Where do I find the Apex List page? Below is a picture of my full dashboard.

No. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to link it to my account because I can’t get a token. It’s still linked to the prior owner’s account...

This is what they say to do as I've been saying !

If you are the new owner of a previously-owned Apex which is still linked to the previous owner's APEX Fusion account

  1. Do an Initialize All of the Apex using the classic web pages (Configuration->Misc Setup page-Initialize memory->Initialize All) or through the display module menu system (System->Init Memory->Init All).
  2. Wait until the Apex reboots
  3. Link your Apex to your APEX Fusion account.

After being super frustrated, I went out and forgot about the Apex for a few hours. Now, I just tried this all again with a cool head and it worked!

Thank you a ton for helping me on this Hallowhead! You were awesome.

Glad I could help!

I went through this a while back and know your frustration !

Glad you're up and running
