Hey guys I need help catching this stupid fish. It's time he goes! I've tried everything from the inverted water bottle trap to netting him and even starving him! I can't get rid of him. Please help. I'm getting to the where if the stuff you guys say doesn't work il pay someone to take this fish out!

If you have exhausted all means then you could try "fishing!" Yes it works! LOL! Use the smallest barbless hook you can find and fish him out. Just be careful you don't catch the wrong fish.

I caught my sunrise dottyback with the coke bottle trick. You just have to be patient. It took me 5 days to finally catch him. In the end I kept putting food in and he finally had to check it out and I yanked the fishing line

I put sinking pellets in once a day for 3 or 4 days. My peppermint shrimp would go in and stir it up. On the 5th day I really wanted it out so I put some in 3 different times about 2 hours apart. By then he was really hungry and I dont think he could help himself from checking it out. I didnt remove any of the food I put in tho. I think they just need time to get use to the bottle being in there. Good luck

I use a fish trap. I am like 15 and 0 with it. Just be patient. With rock dwelling fish, I usually mount a large rock to the top of the trap, thereby creating a cave.

I think thats a great idea about the cave. My sunrise dottyback always stayed around the rock work and I think thats why it took him so long to go into my homemade fish trap. I actually caught every fish in my tank until I finally got the right one. lol

How big is the tank? In mine I was able to net out the fish I wanted but it took time and patience. It did help that the fish I wanted was also hand fed. Good luck

Food (PE mysis) in net works with many fish for me. You have to be patient though; possibly within 3-4 days, you can get the fish to come inside. For the very shy types, I use acrylic trap attached to mag float so I can suspend it anywhere in the tank.

Inverted bottle trick will work but for me, I think the wrong fish will get in and cause havoc and possibly scare the intended target away, and you have to deal with that issue again. The acrylic trap door is nice because you can leave the door open and the fish will come and go, and eventually the one you want will go in.
