I have set up a new 55g saltwater display tank with a 30 gallon sump. I have finally got the tank cycled. (Ammonia is reading very close to zero if not zero, Nitrite is zero and Nitrate is showing up). Just as some information as I am new to this forum, this tank used to be set up as a freshwater African Cichlid tank but I got bored of them. I have a 47 gallon rimless star-fire reef tank so i decided to turn the 55 to a fish-only tank, because I can't fit many fish into the reef (because size). That tank is another story but now about this one! SOOO, since this tank is ready to have fish I was wondering what fish you guys recommend any fish in particular to add to this tank! THANKS!!

I recommend going to a website like http://www.liveaquaria.com/ and use it to research fish. They have great information on all of the common fish available.

The first thing to do - and this is going to be different for everybody - is to look through the available fish and ask "Which of these do I want to expend money and effort on, and which can I be happy looking at for at least the next 8-10 years?" Then, after you've come up with that list, take a look at which ones can be comfortable in your tank, and which ones will happily eat the foods you're willing to provide. That should give you a pretty good short-list, which may _still_ be longer than your tank can accommodate! Figure out which ones can get along together, and which ones can't. Figure out which ones you've simply _got_ to have, and build the system - and the rest of the community - around that.

The rest should sort itself out pretty well - especially with the assembled mind here to back you up!
