I think I have bit the bullet and I plan to buy a 36 x 24 x 22 85 gallon wide aquarium. I am going to have custom stand. More then likely will have a 30 gallon sump.

Skimmer: I have an Super Reef Octopus xp1000sss, I believe this will work on the tank, however, if you think i should go a different route. Feel free to suggest

Lights: I have an ATI powermodule 8 x 39. I have contemplated selling this and going leds, or maybe a single Halide. Havent decided, I just got the light and I really like it, but the bulb replacing price is scarey.

Flow: I have 2 mp10w es as of now, I'm not sure if this would be enough flow for zoas, lps and possible a anenome farther down the line. again any suggestions for flow?

Return pump: This is where im not sure, I want it have an in sump return pump. I am getting just the standard tank, and ill drill it myself, question is, how many times should I drill it, and where should I drill it? Then this leads me to a good return pump.

Any help is appreciated.

is the sump going to be under the stand? if so i would suggest a smaller sump unless your planning on building your stand larger. reason why is you wont have much room underneath for maintenance or equipment. This is the problem i am running into. i put a 30 long under my 90 and I can barely get my collection cup out, little to no room for equipment and its just a real pita all the way around

I would also recommend against a submersible return pump. Again this is something i did and the amount of heat it produces is causing me heat issues in my tank.

yeah, the sump will be underneath the tank. I planned to make the stand a little bit bigger.
