Help choosing office tank

Hello folks! Finally got the green light from Admin @ work to have an aquarium in my office!!

I'm very limited on space. Need some advice on a nice, small, clean looking pico set-up <10 gallons.

I'd like to keep softies in it...any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

i would think a small biocube or nanocube would be the perfect setup for you, I think they come in 8 and 9 gallons respectivly.
(I have a 14bc as my desktop tank...)

honestly go get a 10 gal and get you a good t5ho fixture and run a good skimmer. with it being at your work you should have at least your lunch breack to check if something seems off. and just keep a fresh jug of RO water laying around

I'm sure I'll be paying more attention to the tank than my work!

I'm thinking about how to incorporate a fluval for filtration, and a skimmer of course...

I recall a thread somewhere w/ a modded fluval with a built in fuge and light...can't find it for the life of me...but I'd like to implement something similar.

ocianparadies has told me about modifiying a emperor400 into a HOB sounds cheap and easy if you could do that and a skimmer i think it would work great

for office i still say enclosed systems.... another factor is that they have very close to 0 evaporation.... one less jug to keep by your desk

For a skimmer, use the Oceanic Biocube Skimmer, its very small and its in-tank. The only part of maintenance is keeping the water level consistent.

Get an emperor 400 or some kind of HOB, and either keep it the way it is or it can be turned into a nice little refegieum. A skimmer would be nice also.
I would get a regular 10g or glass aquarium unless you plan on keeping a fish that needs a top like firefish. If i could go back i'd get a 20g long instead of a 24g aquapod.

emp 400 is WAY to big for a 10 gallon u could do the same thing with an emp 280 and have the same reslults or if u want i can post pics of my Aqua clear that i also modded into a HOB fuge(same thing thou)

I love my 3g picotope. I'll post some pics tonight, long overdue. I upgraded the light and I have a branching sun coral, a 10 headed acan, micros, softies and misc LPS. The only fish is a yellow clown goby.

I change water with a 32 oz cup. I haven't figured out a good top-off yet, but I'm sure there is something available. I don't use a skimmer or fuge since it takes about 2 minutes to do a 10% water change.

It's a great size for an office or cube.

I found a 16g bow front with stand real cheap on craigslist. I added a koralia nano, subcurrent filter and sunpod and I love it. 1 fish and a bunch of frags, everyone in the office enjoys it as much as I do.

Picked up a 5.5 AGA

After checking out the space I had to work with, I decided with a 5.5g AGA.

I had some leftover black acrylic, so I got motivated to build an overflow...Water will basically overflow into a fuge w/ LR and return via a Rio 800 tee'd off to 2 x 1" Tank Jets one towards the top and one near the bottom-i'm unsure if this is an overkill. This is my first shot at trying something like this so any input would be appreciated.
