Would the reef octopus rodc 2500 pump be good for a 180g tank with 30g sump?

I have no experience with that pump, but I can tell you the Eheim 1262 has the same rating and mine has been running for almost 5 years now. The ones in my last tank ran that long for me while I owned it and ran until the second owner put it in storage. The Eheim is an AC current powered pump and pulls 80 watts so if you were choosing a DC pump for power consumption issues it may not be for you, but I won't run anything else in my display.

I ran a similar system started with 2 Eheim 1260's, changed to 2 Mag 9.5s to save some space, and untimately to a single RODC 10500, which ran more quietly and cut the wattage by more than half.

If you have an Apex, or other controller, don't get an EcoTech Vectra. It's a complete waste of money because they aren't compatible. Great pump turned good pump at a really high price due to the incompatibility.
