Hi guys, need someone’s help badly. So in the years of reefing and keeping multiple reef tanks I’ve never dealt with this before. I have a whiteish clear mucus like stuff all over my tank. Have not been able to get rid of it in months. Keeps on coming back. It has covered all my rock work and makes a thick film over glass and over flow. Comes off in light brown sheets when I scrape off. I highly doubt it’s algae, I might be wrong.
Been getting my tank serviced and my service guy has been doing 45 gallon water changes with RO water and Fritz Pro salt (blue box) once a month. Sometimes 2 a month. My tank is a Red Sea, total volume roughly 110 gallons.
Have 2 radions, big octopus skimmer, pulls out a lot of gunk. Run a filter sock which gets clogged easily because the mucus like stuff, filter sock is super slimy. All parameters are on point, he checks them with Hanna checkers and salifert test kits. Nothing seems to be off.
Weirdest part is most of my corals are bleached and have been for about a year without any change. Ricordea, Sea fans, couple of montis, seem to be unaffected. LPS like Acans, chalices, wilsoni and my Acros are the ones who don’t get any better. I have small amount of fish in the system, feed twice a week, small amount.
