I have an issue.
I really want to get this pair of gold nugget maroon clownfish. 3.5” and 2”.
The issue.
I have limited space for them.
Option A:
Put them in a 10 gallon refugium (running a kessil H380 8 hours a day)

Option B:
Put them in a 8 gallon biocube (already cycled)

Option C:
Put them in a 14 gallon biocube (not cycled)
(I can do bi weekly large water changes with water from my DT)

Option D:
Have a LFS hold them in a tank for me for a bit until I have time to set up a 30 gallon tank for them( 2-3 weeks)

What do you guys think is best?
(These are a mated, breeding pair, and I haven’t seen these up for sale in forever, and they aren’t overpriced.)

Opinions?

Option D, especially if you are getting the clowns from them. When I sold my last tank I actually had one of my best LFS hold onto my stock till I was ready.

I am not getting them from the LFS.

I am not getting them from the LFS.
In that case then I would go with C since they will be accustomed to your DT parameters with the biweekly changes. I was just thinking if they came from there then it would not be such a huge shock.

Yeah. Ok.
B would be ok as well, as I do weekly 5 gallon changes on that tank. Is 8 gallons enough for a temp tank?

If there is something else in there it might be a little cramped but if it is all for them and is just for a couple weeks then it should not be a problem IMHO.

You can keep them in either the 8 or 14 gallon biocube until the new 30 gallon is ready. just keep an eye on ammonia levels
