Apex Lite
Main Router is a Linksys WRT54G2 - UPnP is enables and port forwarding is set up to send port 4443 to .50 (apex ip)
Secondary Router - Used to connect apex - Set up as a client bridge via DD-WRT - Also enabled port forwarding to 4443 to .50

When I type in my ip in the addy bar and do the :4443 I get nothing. Any help?

Does it work internally without entering x.x.x.50:4443?
Does it work with a cable going from Apex to router (if you have the length to temporarily try that)?
I've not used DD-WRT, you but you shouldn't need to forward :4443 a second time if you are bridging and not routing.

You could DMZ on your second router just to make sure it's getting the traffic... I don't believe you need a second port forwarding since its in bridge mode. Double check your subnet mask and you are able to log
Into your second router running in bridge mode while on the internal network?

Just re read as thought about it.. +1 ^ divewsharks

Do not use the port while on your network at home..probably why you aren't getting a response. You could try entering your WAN ip and the port number by going to showmyip.com and testing it that way by going out to the net and back again.

To add to dives remarks, I use DD-WRT and are you using the full bridge mode with no additional IP space? Meaning the bridge is not handing out DHCP Ip's...as an extension lag rather than a full bridge.

You also (depending on dd-wrt version) should check to see if he WAN port on the bridge is where the Apex is plugged into. There is a checkbox to include that port as part of the bridge that needs to be enabled if your apex is plugged in there.

i can access the apex from my comp, i have it turning on and off my living room lamp atm, it is connected to the second router via wire, then wirelessly with the bridge.

I'm assuming when you say "my ip" you mean your WAN ip based on showmyip.com or some such derivative site?

When you log into it from your house, are you still specifying the port number (x.x.x.50:4443)? Or just hitting it as x.x.x.50?

Lots of Apex users here, your question is not clear to me. In your first post you said you get nothing, then later say you can control it. I thought your problem fixed. So what exactly is the issue

oh ok sorry i thought it was clear.

Well when I go to my computer which is on my network I can type apex or 192.168.1.50 and get the log on. From here I can log on and control stuff.

But When I go to work, and try to log on with my kindle or another comp outside my network I cant.

How Do I do this, I assume its a router setting.

I type in my ip address which was given from whatsmyip.com and then add :4443 to the end, which is the port I have specified to go to the apex.

Ok, so what is still unclear is at hone,do yo add the :4443 ? If not, then your apex is not set (or is not accepting) that port.

If at home you do not add the :4443, then you need to assign your apex to sue that port as well. Port assigned through the router needs to match the port the apex responds on. Port redirection is not recommended for these types of devices.

ok so i have it set for port redirection i think. all devices are set to send port 4443 to 50, so i need to change the apex to 4443 instead of 50, so something like 192.168.1.4443??

You need to set up the external port to whatever you want and the internal port should be 80. At least w/o the wireless bridge in the way.
