Help connecting to home network via GCC

I promise, I have read all the tutorials and watched the YouTube videos and I still can’t figure this out.

Here is what I have done so far:
1) Updated firmware
2) Set-up static IP per below. I have no idea how to find my DCHP range so I just assigned 9. Also, I have no idea how to find DNS so I used public default of 4.2.2.1. Do I even need to assign DNS??

3) I successfully pinged the P4 with the new static IP address.
4) I successfully connected GHL Connect on my iPhone to the P4 using the new IP address in my home network.
5) But I then run into problems trying to set-up a WiFi network connection with GCC on my Surface 3. I created a new connection per below:

But when I try to connect, I get this message:

What am I doing wrong?

You can’t just pick a random IP number. That could be in use already.
You need to log into your home router. In there you can see your DCHP range and also pick an open IP address.
 
It could also be some other issue that I don't understand. Take me for example, right now I can't connect to my P4 through GCC. I get the same error you do. But I can connect to it via the webserver and app. I can connect to my LX7 and WiFi Mini in GCC. I have shutdown and restarted my PC, and that did not fix it. My next step is to power cycle the P4.

As mentioned above you could have a diplicate address. I set the static IP for my devices in my router. I then have them obtain the address automatically.

Thanks. I got it to work! It only took 3 hours, lol. But I guess I have no where to go with this Covid19 lockdown haha.

This is what I had to do in case it helps others. I have Google mesh WiFi, which does not have a DCHP range. You have to go into the app and assign/reserve the IP address for each device if it is not dynamic. The problem was that the P4 doesn’t show up with any description. It just shows up as “unknown” and I have a handful of other IoT devices of “unknown” as well so I did not know which one was the P4. So I had to go back into my laptop into the CMD menu and call up all active IP addresses using command “arp -a”. I could then see the IP address that I assigned to the P4 in GCC along with the associated MAC address. I used the MAC address to find the correct device in Google WiFi app and assigned/reserved the IP address. Voila. Finally works. But very frustrating...

Thanks. Sorry to hear that you are having connection problems as well. Technology is awesome until it doesn’t work! Lol
