Is there anything out there that can be hooked up to an ATO using a pH monitor to prevent overdoses of kalkwasser..something that DOESN'T need to run thru a computer? We tried apex junior, but due to a lack of available ten year olds to set it up we were unsuccessful. Using kalk in the ATO worked great, until it didn't (thanks to user error). Still battling the side effects of a kalk overdose several days ago!

We prefer using a controller to monitor your chemical additions as you can use back up solenoid(s) or switches as a form of redundancy to protect the system from the event of future failures. What was the issue with the Apex Jr you had? Just general setup/Programming?

Yes, I guess our computer is an older one and it didn't have the right something or other, so the apex setup system wanted us to shut down our firewall so it could install its whatever..so we were stuck right there, not knowing how to shut down our firewall. I know this sounds dumb...but I really am not. I just know nothing about computers!

Milwaukee make a standalone PH controller - you'd have to check to see if it can be set to turn off at a high PH or not.

I have an older Milwaukee 122 at home (prob 15 years old at least). I use it to maintain pH inside my CaRx. Basically it is active as long as internal pH is above 6.8, otherwise off. In order to be useful in your application, it would need to be active below a set pH level - so the opposite of what I do. There appears to be no way to change the active to be 'below' rather than 'above' the set point on mine, but the newer (non green) model has a below/above switch that I think would allow it to work for you. Perhaps somebody here has experience with the newer model.
