My convict tang I've had for atleast 2 years now is starting to show signs of something. I don't know what it is and it seems like it could be something bad. It's like an orangeish spot near his spike on his side, he keeps scratching it against a shell and seems to be hurting himself, like scarring himself up on that side. Right side for comparison, I can't get a good pic because he never stops moving...
PLEASE HELP

Could just be a cut or bruise, which of course always has the potential to get infected. Is he breathing heavy or acting unusual in any way except for rubbing himself? Do you have a QT (if needed)? An acclimation box?

Other than the scratching he's acting normal. I've never seen a fish with a bruise before so i didn't even think of that as an option, i do have a QT if needed, but i hope this will just pass. I'm just hoping its not some kind of disease that could infect my other fish

Is he still eating? If so, try soaking his food in vitamin supplements (Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem) to see if that will expedite the healing process. If it starts looking worse, QT him and we will figure out which meds to use. Do you have any antibiotics on hand? Kanaplex or Furan-2?

He eats fine and i just started supplementing with selcon as of 2 days ago. I have Furan-2 on hand if needed, i guess ill just wait till tomorrow to make a final decision, thanks for the advice and help

I'm late to the party... looks like yall have it handled. :)

I too am late and it looks like humble has advised you well. I might also add that very nutritious foods such as live black worms will also improve his health.
