Help - coral losing tissue (scolimia?)

Stable tank, 420 ca, 7.5 pH, 8-8.5 Alk... Feeding frozen LRS fish food every day, broadcast feeding once a week various coral foods.

Coral purchased about 6 weeks ago. Did well for about 3-4 weeks. Over the last 2 weeks shrunk to half the size, lost a bit of tissue. I had another coral, elegance, purchase same date from another vendor, died last week. A second scoly and other corals, from different vendors, same date, all open up and doing fine.

How can I bring this scoly back to open big? Is it losing its guts (literally)? It does not seem to present feeding response.

Both photos from the same distance, for size comparison. The one that lost tissue was the same size and even bigger than the other one up until two weeks ago.

Probably need to list your other parameters also and salinity along with tank age and lights. Have you done an ICP test for everything previously?

I can’t see the video, but what is your tank temp? I find mine like cooler temps (75-76 degrees). I also feed a little less (3x/week).

Flat one might I believe it's a trachy, you are right. The other one might be a Lobo.

Anyways, video takes some time to load, there's something coming out of coral's mouth.

8-10 days ago moved about 20 corals to the new tank (bare bottom), Tropic Marin salt, corals only at the moment, good flow, all other corals extending nicely.

Lights on the 75g tank 2x ReefLED 50, PAR around 100 at the bottom.
New tank: 2x Orphek iCon, PAR around 120-230 at the bottom, shorter light period.

Temperature 78F +/- 1F, both tanks.

I have like 6 trachys. I have had some shrivel up at night and appear to lose flesh only to recover the next day or week and inflate huge again. You need to post your other parameters and lighting. What par? I have mine in the bottom corners of the tank.

Indeed a tracyphillia and will recede occasionally. Assure Moderate light and water flow and feed 2-3X per week. Mysis shrimp a good food
Assure phosphate and salinity not elevated

Sounds like they are just still acclimating to the new tank then. They can recover nicely. Some of those pics had them 50% tissue gone but they totally recovered with the right conditions.

Bare bottom tank is going to have ALOT more flow along the bottom glass. Was the old tank bare bottom also? I interpret your post as a no. Trachy/Lobo are not big on flow from the sides.

Also par? Going from 100 to 120 ok.. but 230? not ok

Salinity: 1.026 bare bottom; 1.025 in the 75G.

My apologies - bottom par 120-130. Low flow on the bare bottom, all corals on the bare bottom appear ok and feeding ok.

Any alk swings? What is your PO4?

No Alk swings (not sure if 8.3 to 8.7 is a swing, every week I measure it around the same time of day). PO4 in the bare bottom around 0.06.
PO4 in the 75G tank around 0.08. 75G tank sand bottom.

I did not do an ICP test, dosing RedSea ABCD once a week. An ICP is in order, needs to be done.

I tried yesterday feeding mysis and ReefChili, the mouths just stay open before/during/after feeding, without any kind of feeding response or digestion signs.

Today I moved the coral back in the 75G tank (where it was 2 weeks ago). This is a mixed tank, soft/LPS/SPS - all appear to be doing fine, extended polyps, feeding, except this coral. Will keep it under observation and will try to feed powder foods.

Just because it won't eat from your hand does not mean it is not feeding on nutrients. I never spot feed my trachys anything and they are huge.
