I have a 55gallon with sump and refigium. Water levels are

Ammonia:0
Ph:8.3-8.4
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates:about 5ppm
Temp: 78-79

Not sure about phosphates. Going to snag a test kit after the holidays. But their is no signs of algae in the tank.
Led lighting set pretty low. But the LFS I bought the frags from had them under radions.

Corals are a green star polyp and a little frag of zoas.

How long have you had the frags? What's the flow there in. Do you asterea stars? I've had on multiple occasions devour my green star polyps

The flow is pretty strong where it is placed. I do not have asterea stars. The frag is about one month old and they have really never fully opened. The zoas have not opened either. I have placed them in different areas of the tank and let them be for a few days with no igns of improvement

Don't worry! :cool::)

Both can be very temperamental. GSP might take a month or more to open. I would definitely root out any problem issues if you can, but there might not be anything wrong per-se, aside from their still trying to acclimate to your tank.

Matching the light in your tank closer to the tank where they came from is important, so if you can get measurements of both tanks to use for making adjustments, I'd still do that. Use a lux meter or a PAR meter, but get some measurements if at all possible. At the very least, you can then rule out lighting to a greater degree.

thats the thing. I acclimated them in bags under those lights and they opened up just fine while in the bag. Maybe the lfs has a different salinity than me. Mine is at 1.025 and has been pretty consistent for the most part. I did have a small algae bloom a couple of weeks ago. Wondering if something then might have messed em up. I have the lights dialed pretty far down. Maybe to far down?
