My tank been cycling for almost a month and the ammonia is at 0.25 and and nitrite and nitrate at 0 and been like this for almost 2 weeks..I already seen the nitrite spike and it’s at 0 and nitrate at 0 so what’s next??

Let's get a little more info

Size of tank
Type and amount of rock live/dry
Sand? Live/dry?
Source of ammonia?
Bacteria added?
Test kits being used
How high was the nitrite spike?

55 gallon
Like 40 lbs of dry rock and I gotten 2 pieces of live rock the other day and Live sand
Ammonia chloride
Dr Tim’s one and only
Api Test kits

How much ammonia did you add to kick start it? You might be cycled already, api is known to give a false positive but no Nitrate is odd. Could it be a testing error?

I added the amount it made me put which was, add 4 drops a gallon

Maybe it could be testing error i really don’t know but I seen the nitrite spike then waited 2 days to test again
And it’s identical I sent you a photo of it

You can do an ammonia confirm run if you want at 1ppm, it should be back down to zero in 24hrs confirming your cycle. Although on paper it says you are ready.

You haven't done water changes right?

I use that same test kit and I did a test where I found it's just got an off yellowish colour when it reads zero. That looks like you're fine on ammonia but the nitrate is odd. If your LFS offers testing sometimes I like to double check with their test kits.

That odd you don't see any Nitrate after cycle. with API test kit you shake the nitrate bottle#2 for a good min before testing correct?
also a ammonia test run might not be a bad idea. I dosed my tank twice to 4ppm ammonia after the tank had done it cycle to make sure things were running right. in return my nitrates were almost off the chart of the api test kit.

I’ll think imma do an ammonia test run..sounds like the plan..did you also use dr Tim’s and it’s ammonia chloride too?

I used Sachem Stability dosed that like the bottle suggested then i used regular 10% ammonia you get at the hardware store to start the cycle and test run the system. Didn't need very much i don't remember exactly the amount i used but it was like 4 or 5 ML for a 55 gallon setup.

Ohh okay and you think I should test every 6 hours ? Or just wait until 24 hours

where did you get 6 hours from? I would dose the tank with ammonia chloride you have wait 45min to an hour and test ammonia to make sure you have a ammonia spike wait 24 hours and test everything.
