Give it 24 hours as by morning that shell should be empty from the molt

it must be a molt as your cuc would make it disapear

It's most likely a molt. I get alerted to them a good bit by my wife saying "I think there is a dead shrimp" or "I think there is a dead crab". But it's just the molt.

Take it out of the tank and see if there is anything actually inside it. If there is - it's dead. If not, it's a molt.

Looks dead sorry the only reason I say this is it looks like there's algae growing on his shell the only thing I could say is make sure this isn't just the shedded piece of shell and he's not hiding somewhere

Allow it to continue molt. Although typically overnight, there is no timeframe
