Hello all. I am trying to decide if I want one more fish for my 32 gallon biocube aquarium or not, and if I do, what kind. Currently, it has 4 blue leg hermits, 1 red reef hermit, a tuxedo urchin, and some soft corals for inverts. I have 3 semi-aggressive fish - a Flame Hawkfish, a Valentini puffer, and a Springeri Dottyback. They all cohabitate very peacefully and are healthy.

I started dosing NOPOX about 2 months ago which helped finally control a GHA problem I had, but am now wondering if my tank could support one more small fish. I wanna make sure nutrients dont hit 0 for my soft corals, but I dont want to just dump tons of food and overfeed.

I am happy with my 3 fish, but I also really want a blenny of some kind. However, my flame hawk did not like my goby I used to have (who got moved to his own tank), so I am not sure if a blenny would be targeted too. Are Blennies boistrous/mobile enough to be more ok? The hawk never bit my goby, he just kept sitting in his hole and occasionally rushing him which kept it from eatting. The goby NEVER left the bottom or his one cave though, and blennies seem busier.

If a blenny is out of the question, then do y'all have suggestions? I don't want any kind of damsel (including clownfish) since theyre known hellions, and I'd prefer things that arn't yellow colored. Thanks for reading all this!

The Benny and Hawk occupied the same real estate; the bottom. Hence the conflict. How about a nice Aptasia Eating Filefish? They are very chil. :)

I didnt have a blenny, I had a goby. Yeah I know that was their issue. Im hoping a blenny would be more mobile. And I wasnt sure if filefish would get along with my puffer

I personally wouldn't add anything else. You've achieved harmony in a fish tank - which doesn't happen too often for anyone. But, if you're just itching for another fish I had a lawnmower blenny who patrolled the entire tank like it was a playrgound. He never spent too much time in one place. That may just be that specific fish's personality or they all may be like that. Someone may be able to chime in on that. Awesome aquascape by the way!

I have a Valentini Puffer in a shallow 6’ long 90-gallon FOWLR, with three (3) Aptasia Eating Filefish. No one pays anyone else any attention. Lol. Best wishes on your decision. ;)

I wouldn't put any more in with that mix in a 32g, they can all be aggressive and territorial. Very good line up btw, I wouldn't mess with it. The key to keeping aggressive fish is to not overcrowd them.
