Hi. Starting to fill my 100ish gallon tank. Have 2 baby clownfish. See pic. And lawnmower blenny. Kids really want a yellow tang. I slow want a few wrasses. One for eating bugs and such. The other just for looks. Any thoughts on compatibility? I’m doing lots of my own research as opposed to my first tank. But there’s always lots of things I didn’t think of brought up here. Don’t want a 6 line either. Have one in other tank. Want something different. And had bad experience introducing another wrasse. And I really like those fish. No idea what I want for the rest of the tank. Maybe anthias. Kind of taking my time. The tang will probably come in a bit later. Thinking about 2 tangs. What would you pair with yellow besides the wrasse question? No worries about space for them. I’ll have a bigger tank in a few years and plan to start with small fish. Will have coral too eventually. Probably will introduce 2 wrasses and 2 tangs each together at separate times. Thanks
This is what I’ve got so far

I like it so far. If your looking around for ideas, I kinda like the chalk bass. They are friendly and you can keep a small school of them. I had a large freshwater tank with plants and 30+ tetras and when they moved together it brought a level of life to my tank that reef tanks sometimes miss out on.

Thanks. I had a chalk bass in my 32g but it does fairly quickly. Before I knew how to add fish safely. I loved that fish. Would be nice to have a few of them.

Yellow tang would be fine. I would add a few Flasher or fairy first then the last wrasse is a Melanurus. Consider these, they are not too expensive and fairly easy to keep, not very aggressive. You must take good acre of them and they must be comfortable and healthy to look their best. None of my wrasse look like this when I first got them, but with good care, the beauty of these wrasse are second to none. At the LFS, these wrasse look terrible, however, if you know what you are looking for and know how to take care of them, you will end up with diamond from the common looking rocks that you find at the LFS.

Vrolik Wrase (a Melanurus wrasse aslo would be OK)

Radiant Wrasse

Choose about 5 of these wrasse would be OK. Utility wrasse would be either the Radiant (most delicate of the three), Melanurus or Vrolik while the others are just for look. All the above wrasse are, IMO, most beautiful of the cheaper wrasses. The Naoko is the most aggressive while the Solon Fairy is the largest. All of them should do fine in a 100 gal tank.
