Help dont know what to do

So i bought a royal gramma today idk why but after a few mins in my tank the fish is sideway in the corner idk if it shock but shouldnt be swimming sideway i gave food to see yet he eats it but eat it sideway. Got a new clownfish hes fine.Help

That's a normal pose for the gramma. They tilt sideways and hover a lot. They're a crevice-dwelling fish, and tend to act like "down" is the nearest surface to them. If it's eating, it's probably fine.
However, it should at some point start exploring the tank, and find itself a safe hole to hide in. Watch to make sure he comes out of the corner eventually and isn't attacked by the clownfish. You should have multiple nice holes, caves, and crevices for your fish to hide in, more hiding places than fish.

His behavior was fine before and after a while i only did temp acclimatization since i heard just that is fine from a Youtuber which had more experience but still he ate

I hope ur right my tank is like this btw should be 40L tank

You will need more hiding places for that fish, at the moment it looks stressed and without much option of being able to move elsewhere, for a moment I thought of ammonia poisoning during acclimatization, but you need to reduce stress as soon as possible, remember that this brings diseases.

Agreed. PVC isn't just for quarantine or hospital tanks! There's nothing at all wrong in sticking an elbow or two at the bank of the display to provide hiding spaces/acclimation zones for new tankmates. They're certainly easy to remove when you want to do that.

My grammas immediately sought out hidey holes when I first put them in my IM40. It's behaviour that I've commonly seen with them in tide pools in the Bahamas when they're threatened.

really hard on fish to just temp acclimate can easily induce ich breakout from stress. In the future take the fish out an dump the majority of the water leaving the fish in 3-4 inch's or so of water. I'm old school I just add cup of tank water every few mins. when I think I have doubled the 3 inch's I dump it out back to 3 inch's an repeat the process takes about 15-20 mins tops
sure you can always gamble but know that's a high risk gamble

Grammas are strange fish. In the ocean they prefer to be near or under an overhang so they can easily dive for cover. It may very well just be stressed out from the move to a new home

That's nonsense I worked with fish for over 20 years aswell as a fish store for five years never just temp acclimate fish ..nonsense son

So what are you doing to counteract the ammonia buildup turning toxic when new oxygen is introduced? Prime to bind it up?
