So I had been running two part for a while, but wasn't actually dosing much, and seemed to have low pH. (7.8-8.1 maybe 8.2) so I looked into adding kalkwasser into my ATO. Started slow and added 1 tbsp per 4 gallons rodi. That worked well for a while but I was getting a pretty good ph swing. I dont want to buy any other equipment I have 2 1.6mLpm pumps from BRS that are hooked up to my Apex. I made a stock solution in a one gallon container with 2 tsp of kalk and a gallon of water to try dosing tonight, but I'm really not sure where to start as far as how much i should start dosing. Alk solution was so much easier! Should I just severely dilute the kalk going into my ATO? maybe do 1 tbsp per 8 g rodi or try dosing a smaller amount of the more concentrated kalk?

I been dosing kalk thru my ato for over a year now .but its with the kalkwasser stirer two little fishes.there is no pump required cause its setup after the ato pump . Trust me its a lot easier then dosing pump and a drip system. Look it up..btw got a brother that lives in Clinton tn. .

i looked into that but i cant use it with my tunze ato and i really dont want to get another piece of equipment.

A PH between 7.8 an 8.2 is actually acceptable. I wouldn't be concerned with those readings. Mine swings like that from day to night, totally normal. It's only when we get drastic swings that we need to worry about. Like 8.4+ and it stays there or lower like 6.8.
Bottom line is....PH is going to swing a little. No need to chase it :)

From what I've read, pH stability is one key to successfully keeping sps.
