HELP! dosing nitrates and phosphates are rising!

I am dosing sodium nitrate due to 0 nitrate and phosphate was at .03. My nitrates aren’t budging but my phosphate jumped up too .9. I don’t get it.

Started out dosing neonitro first now I am dosing sodium nitrate.

That doesn’t make sense to me. When I dose NeoNitro only the NO3 goes up and if anything the PO4 goes slightly down. I’m not sure what would cause your PO4 to rise like that, unless you are also doing something else like feeding heavy dry food.

I dosed sodium nitrate again tonight and my nitrates are up to 5.3. And my phosphate is at .08. I am using Hanna checkers. I think it was just a bad packet of regiment. Sorry false alarm. Lol. It is looking like I am on track. Thanks for the response though

I agree that if you really dosed only nitrate and saw a jump in phosphate from 0.03 ppm to 0.9 ppm, it is likely purely test error, but could be a highly contaminated dosing solution.
