Help - Dropsy (ascites?) in six line wrasse

My 5yr old six line wrasse is looking like a pinecone although Still swimming and eating (maybe with a little less vigour).
I did an aggressive scrubbing of the DT rocks for bubble algae on Sunday. Stressful for the inhabitants but nothing they haven't been through before. Could that have been the cause?

I have on hand Pimafix and Melafix but cant get anything stronger (stupid @$#*! Canadian laws). Is it worth attempting the treatment or continue to beef up diet with Selcon, Vita Chem and Garlic?

Sorry for the poor quality. Doesn't do justice to the scale pop, but hopefully you can see. They are definitely raised. I'll try to get some better shots or a video.

Hard to see much in the photo. Is the wrasse bloated? or, are the scales just lifted? On belly or entire fish?

If it is dropsy, Jay advises that it is not contagious but there is no known treatment.

Pima fix and melafix which are teak tree oils wont do much. Appears to be an internal issue . Dont see rectal prolapse which is good, but can be constipation or intestinal blockage but generally fish will have loss of equilibrium, which in some severe cases it can lead to swelling.
Metroplex would be the best bet to clear this or you can if fish is eating start soaking your fish food with Kanaplex + Seachem Focus to bind the medication to the food.

Thanks. Unfortunately Metroplex, Kanaplex and focus aren’t available in Canada.

Not bloated, just raised scales. All along the body.

Just ran tests and suspect an overdose of iodine. My old iodine test kit was expired early and giving low readings. New test kit showed >0.2ppm.

Running carbon to remove the excess iodine and prepping water for a change. Hopefully it works.

Have some API stress coat. Worth using or will th carbon just absorb it?
