I need some advice! My elegance has been like this for almost a week now. It still puffs up at night when the lights are off. But it never extends anymore and it is constantly expelling small thin brown strings.

None of that matters if it has a bacterial infection. Aussie or Indo? It looks pretty bad. You need to treat it.
This may be true but to jump and fresh water dip it instead of a salt mix medicated bath could harm the coral even more depending on how far it is gone.

I agree it needs treatment but figure out your route before just dunking it.

This is great and maybe even go one step further and provide the link.

To think people already know the knowledge we know is unfortunate and leads to misunderstandings as such.

If you would have started this with hey OP heres a thread on how fresh water dipping elegance corals is good and has been done with success...might have worked also.

Thanks for the info none the less as learning is always good!

Ouch.....................
What is age of your tank?
Are you using RO water or Tap water from the faucet?
These guys basically need moderate water flow and light and Temp range -77-79, PH range 8.1-8.3, salinity 1.024-1.026, and low ammonia.

This is mine under those mentioned conditions:

Hi again! You seem to be a lot of fun!

I’m sorry OP, but I think it’s a sticky somewhere on here. It got a lot of traction recently. Please use the search feature. Good luck!
