Well the title pretty much sums it all up. I had 2 emerald crabs die and i did not find them and now the tank has started getting algae and bryopis. I have begun to up my water changes to every other day and I am also bringing up the mg to 1800. I am using Kent for the mg. I plan on going dark for a few days to also help it out. Just wondering if this sounds good or should I try something else? I don't want it to take over and destroy how it looks.

You might find this funny but I picked it out by hand and put zoas over it. Zoas will choak bryopsis out if you are able to grow them fast enough. I use reef roids on them.

Sounds like you have the best handle on it.
Mag with Kent Tech M.
Lights out.
You should be in good shape with this routine.

Yep, Kent Tech M is the way to go. When my system was 500 gallons I slowly raised my Mg up to 1600 with Espsom salt and then switch to the Tech M to keep it there a while and still had success killing off the bryopsis. I still used a gallon but it worked. Make sure to take your time bringing the levels up and you will probably not have any loss of color or death at all. SLOWLY bring them up.
