For an 10 gallon I'd take an pass on a skimmer and keep things stable with water changes.

Thanks! My nitrates keep reading around 10 just wanted to bring it down a little more . What about a small a small refugium in the back?

Welcome to R2R. 10ppm nitrates aren't that bad. Weekly water changes should keep things in check
