Really frustrated with fish making it into my overflow box or even my sump.

The overflow is a exotic marine system overflow. I don't understand how the fish manager to keep doing this?

I tried using foam, but it slows the flow too much and don't have many ideas for other options

Thanks

I use that plastic embroidery mesh to cover the back of my canopy and I have a piece in my overflow also to keep fish from jumping over the weir into it.
Yes. the plastic mesh works well. I also use egg crate which has many other uses as well. sometimes a little tougher to find but you can also get the egg crate in black as well if you want to color match with the overflow.

Thanks, but how would I attach as the fish get in from the weir slots.

Thanks

I put two pieces of egg crate in my eshopps eclipse overflow. I put them in to help with the sound, but it also keeps fish out. I've noticed very little flow restriction and they're easy to pull out and clean.

Pictures?

I used the plastic embroidery mesh and really small zip ties. Worked well! Had a dragonette that was going in there daily and hasn’t once since.

I can take some better pictures when I get home, but here's what I have on my phone right now.

A piece of netting from like a media bag. Some sort of mesh. Turn off the return pump. Super glue it on. If th fish is going up and over you can do a piece that’s starts below the hole and wraps over the top to the back piece of the tank

Yep, both pieces are cut about the same size as the overflow. I used two pieces just to make sure that one would be pushed against the weir. It didn't make it perfectly silent, but it did make a big difference. When I tried it with only one piece in there, the water pushed it to the back and it didn't really do anything for the noise.

Gonna have to try that then!

The only thing that has ended up in my sump was my BW nem. Right after she was moved to the new tank she found herself in my filter sock! Had me freaked out! My mandarin ended up in the overflow when I had my AIO 16 gal set up.

OP what type of fish is this that like to go on the sump slide?
