I had a exquisite wrasse that I thought was eating Ok but kept getting thinner until he passed. Now this morning I noticed that my yellow tang didn't eat. Is there an internal parasite that would cause this and do I need to worry about my other fish or wait it out and see if he starts eating again. Thanks for any input..

Common parasites can cause fish not to eat (ich being a common example). Even those that eat, if badly affected and infected by ich, it will rob them of nutrients and they will gradually lose more and more weight.

Fairy wrasses are tough singly, IMO.

I've always done best getting several (mixing in flashers counts too). Just my .02

Thanks, there's no visible problem that I can see. I did get him to peck at some seaweed this afternoon but he does seem more lethargic than normal. All the other fish are active and seem to normal.

Live black worms. Instant fix any wrasse will eat

Tried to upload a picture of my skinny tang but it won't upload

I have not but will keep an eye out for. He's so thin u can almost see through him. He's never been thick but he definitely had a better appetite. He does eat a couple bites but then quits. There isn't a treatment safe for shrimp and crabs either is there?

My coral beauty has some kind of stringy stuff hanging off f him,it looks more like algae, it has a green tint to it. So far he's still very active and eating very good but I will definitely have to keep an eye on him.

Prazipro is a reef safe way to treat parasites, though using it can suppress appetites. NLS has their thera a line that helps with internal parasites.

I do have something that says it is reef safe called kick-ich that I bought just in case. Would that work or would I need something strictly for internal parasites?

Yeah don't use that. You need something with praziquantel like prazipro

Unfortunately I lost my yellow tang, I noticed my sailfin had a long white string of poop but still has a great apatite. Treated with Prazipro on Tuesday, how do you tell if it will need a second dose? Also the sailfin has a white spot on one fin, will Prazipro clear that up as well?

Prazi pro will do nothing to help with ich, velvet, brook, lymph, or most things that produce white spots

That's what I figured just wanted the confirmation from someone with more experience. The white spot is still just on the one fin and he's the only one with it, so is it ich or something else? Is it something that may take care of it's self or will it just explode one day? I don't want to use any more chemicals than I have to.
