I had a very simple sump made. Could have done it myself but way free. Anyway it only has 2 baffles. One for the refugium then filter sponges and then a return chamber. Well the first baffle is coming unglued on one side. What would my best way to fix this. I believe no underwater silicone is reef safe. I think i know the simple answer to this. Drain, silicone, dry, and fill. But whats that going to do with my main display. Or is there any other options

My suggestion is instead of fixing your current sump you make your own the way you want it. Petco has cheap tanks and there are many good sump kits for those tanks on ebay ect....
Then you just turn off the return pump, drain and exchange sumps.

I would love to do that but trying to be cost effective. Its a 120 tank that was turned into the sump for my 180 gallon planet aquarium display. I like the size of the 120 sump for future add ons. Maybe do a small one just till I get it fixed. If so what size should I make and how long should I let them dry before swapping then swapping back.

You will get a lot of different opinions on time to cure for silicone. 1/4 inch bead needs 48 hours at a min. Since we are sandwiching it inbetween the glass and are prob using a larger bead its going to take longer. I would wait a week. Because its a sump there will not be a lot of pressure. We have some water on both sides. Many people have waited less time. On the old sump be sure the area to be redone is spotless for best results
