I have a rimless 50 gallon Cube 24w x 24 x 20H so not exactly a cube lol. About to mount my Gen3 pro & was wondering how high off the water surface I should mount it. My tank is mostly LPS, Zoas & Shrooms. Any input or recommendations would be appreciated thank you☺ Also if you know any good programs for my type of Corals chime in[emoji4]

i have the same exact tank and light and i use the rms mount .. it looks bad butt like this ---

I have that same tank too :)

I run a kessil, but the same rules apply. You'll need to know the spread of the light. For me, it was important to minimize light bleed since the tank is next to my desk. Mine is about 6" above to accommodate that. I'd say 4-12" is the general zone.

Yeah the RMS is clean but the mount I have now allows the whole radion to be angled inward or outward or totally flipped up & out of the way to allow full access to the top of the tank. How far does your RMS mount put the radion above the water?

Just measured it for you ..

7 inches from top of the tank to bottom of the light

(Thats 8 inches from the surface of the water)

When I had my gen 1 that was upgraded to gen 3, I had it mounted at 8-1/2" over the water.
For your corals I would suggest the pre-loaded radiant program, using the acclimation program and go to a max of about 65%.
