help getting chalices to eat

I just fed my chalices tonight right when the lights are in sunset mode and the fish are starting to hide..... The trick is to turn off all pumps and just squirt the food directly on top of the mouths and just let it sit..... It may take a second before they start to grab the food or it may take 20 minutes..... I have brought many chalices back from the dead with frequent feeding with this method.... After a week of feeding every two days like this, you will start to see the tentacles out wanting to eat.... Here is a picture of the monster mash that I picked up less than two weeks ago....

I have my lights scheduled so they go out at 8:00, so at 10:00 I go down to feed. Turn pumps off, I cover all the chalices with my super-secret concoction of food and leave it on them for about an hour. They usually suck up all the food and are fat and happy. Even they hard to feed chalices that dont put out sweepers will eventually suck up the food with this method.

Of course you have a secret concoction. ;) any chance of it becoming a little less secret??

Nice work on the monster. I have moved my light cycle back an hour over the past couple days. Gonna try to feed tonight w the above suggestions since dnov sent me over his secret concoction. ;).

3 of my 4 chalices ate last night!! The 4th I can't really tell where it's eyes are haha. So bumpy. Plus even though phs were off it was still getting flow from the return so I'm going to move it.

But just wanted to say thanks and you guys rock!!

I have recd numerous PM about this so here is what I feed my chalices and other LPS, its very easy. I take a small amount of tank water, Rods frozen coral blend, chopped PE mysis, H2O reef caviar, a drop of Zeovit LPS AA. I apply this with one of those plastic pipepettes that are used for refractometer's. Spread it over the eyes of the chalice and let sit for an hour. I try to do this every other night, but I do slack with that sometimes. Take note though, this is a very high protein food and will raise your PO4 quickly if you overfeed it. I also run a large skimmer on a large volume system, so this isn't for the tiny system. Hope this helps!!
