My fluval heater cracked during a water change today and I didn't pay attention that it was out of water why changing my water. After I filled the sump back up. I heard a small Crack. I just ignored it cause I thought the rocks inside slipped or whatever. Few hours later I go to turn on my sump light and I noticed black residue (or oil, or grease, or burnt whatever) that leaked out from the cracked Heater!!!??

it smells like burnt gun powder or oil. I'm not sure what's going to happen. ??? Is this something to be concerned about? Do those heaters have toxic internal parts?? And most of if not all the residue was floating and sticking to the surface of the water... if that means anything. Help??!!! What do I do? Is all my fish and coral going to die? M
