Ok so I dont have a ato and I fill my 29 gallon tank (~40 gallon with sump)up with buckets, I have 3 with salt and 3 with fresh at all times. My roommate brought in a saltwater one on monday thinking it was fresh and we have been topping off with it I checked the salt levels and there at 1.028ish do I remove water and just all at one time drop it back to .025 or slowly do it?!?!?!?! Plz help dont have much money to restock

1.028 is high but not dangerously high IMHO. Bring it back slowly by doing smaller daily water changes with FW until it's normal.

That's not dangerously high, just remove a cup or so of your tank water when topping off. Keep checkin....

Depends on what u r trying to keep alive, inverts are more sensitive to quick changes in salinity. Anything more than 3 SD's from X = average 1.026, so.......beep bop boop.......+ or - 0.004. Or > 1.030 or <1.022
