HOB reef octopus 2000 help! I turn the pump off emptied the container and put it back together. Now the container keeps overflowing no matter what.

All I did was turned the power off then emptied the top container of gunk.
Interesting. I would not think it would effect anything to just empty and put back. I am having a similar issue with my HOB but it is because I mounted corals yesterday so the epoxy is making it mad. Did you possibly knock the settings putting the collection cup back on.

Frustrated.

I may have adjusted the height but nothing I see on it adjust it other then the cup height.
If it is the one with the o-ring that is likely. I've heard a lot of people complaining about the o-ring not holding the collection cup well. Maybe raise it up as high as you can and see if still overflows. If not, slowly lower it back down.
