hey guys so i was rearranging my rocks today and have a big pad i had some mushrooms out i moved the mushrooms and noticed two small bristle worms “ nasty” i really really wanna remove them/ kill them / do not want them at all i removed and killed both but I’m sure i have have who know where’s trying to find out how i can get rid of them

10gallon tank
Watchman goby/pistol shrimp / clown fish
Hermits / emerald crab / snail mix

I have a picture wanna get rid of them ASAP
Contacted my local fish store they told me they use some thing called a trap. That traps them in there by luring them i dunno any help would be good.

Any particular reason you want to get rid of them?

There’s really no point in removing them. They’re harmless unless you get poked when you aren’t paying attention and they will make it back into your tank when you get more corals or live rock.
So really no way of removing them? Does everyone have them? God i hate them lol

If you truly do wish to get rid of them. They do sell a trap for them that kinda works. Can’t say I️t works every time but I️ don’t think you really need to get rid of them Most of the time they are hidden anyways and they are good clean up crew members.

Oh i truly don’t want them lol will the trap catch even the tiny ones?

What is your objection to them? What harm have they caused your tank? Have they caused any measurable damage to your fish or corals? Despite what the other posters have (correctly) said about them being beneficial and a net benefit for your tank, you still want to remove them?

Consistent manual removal is the best and fastest way, if you don't want them (i don't either) You'll need to QT all rock and coral, which IMO you should be doing anyways.

Yah i didn’t do that since i only have room for this 10 gallon in the future I’ll be upgrading and making one

Just don’t like the way they look specially when they grow don’t want them at all in my tank

I like them for the diversity and interest they add, detritus removed, etc. But if you really, really want to get rid of them you might try this:
Sweet thanks for the video Ima make a trap maybe I’ll catch one

Heard the arrow will do work but than attack my hermits and snails

I have a huge one in my 40g and it ignores all the other inverts. Well except the fire shrimp, but that's only at feeding time when they are going after food and are climbing all over one another to get a morsel. Rather amusing to watch, but never seen any aggression from either otherwise. I want to say that as long as they have plenty of grazing space and are not starving they will leave other inverts alone.

It's going to be nearly impossible to eradicate them from your tank. If you do somehow manage to get them all out of your tank, which would be a remarkable feat given the size and behavior of bristle worms, your quarantine procedure is going to have to be unrivaled or else they will be in your tank again. At the very least, bristle worms are not harmless. In many cases, they are even beneficial.

If you truly wish to eradicate them from your tank, I wish you the best of luck. It's going to be a very long and very difficult process. Torturing yourself to remove something beneficial from your tank because you don't like their physical appearance does not seem like the best use of time to me. But the choice is yours.
