Help! I can’t get the algae under control!

What do I do? I treated tank with a fungal medication for new fish that was supposed to be reef safe. It wiped out 90% of the coral within a few days and then algae overtake. I’ve done countless water changes and saved a few of the corals and managed the algae with lighting and nutrient control to this but after months it’s still like this...

Is that a window, can any sunlight hit your tank, sunlight famous for pest algae growth. Sorry, maybe not but just wanted to check....
Some info please.
How long since cycle?
Describe your filtration.
List current parameters and how long they have remained stable.

Green hair algae. Manually remove/siphon out, check NO3 and PO4 are in range, lessen feeding, shorten light intervals, add CUC if you don’t have and a tang or 2 depending on tank size and lawnmower blenny. Be patient. Will take time to eradicate.

Already see your problem. . . The UV from direct and indirect sunlight at your window will do two things:
-accelarate algae growth quickly
-Sunlight will warm the tank daily and give you temperature swings

What can you do?

Black out left side of tank with black construction paper to block out total light. Reduce white light intensity for a week or two. pull the hair algae by hand and add the following:

4 - turbo snails
4- Nassarius snails
3- astrea snails
3- trochus snails
6 blue leg hermits

Accilmate them well and you should see a difference

If it is a 60 gAl id do 3 Mexican turbo's 5 blue legs 1 brittle star 4 astrea and 3 nassarius tongas also a lawnmower blenny are all reef safe

Also, Chaeto will out compete this algae if you trim it all back. Chaeto is pretty cheap, and your not adding chemicals to your tank.

feeding frozen foods helps too since they don’t have much nutrients as pellets or flakes
