Hey every one im new here glad to be here. 8) i have a 20g nano with a fuge, and working on a few other tanks.
I have only been in the salt hobbie for about 6 months. FW and turtle keeping for years.
well i am setting up a frag tank, and i want a led fixture. the problem is there is so many to choose from. yes the radion is great and all and i would spend the 700+ for it but i think its over priced for at least what i need. i think it be a little over kill for a frag tank. well after a month of researching every thing i could type in google... i am just confused on what to go with. i do own a ML reef capable light for my 20g nano. it works great but its def not the best. i need two to cover my whole tank so it doesnt have dark spots.

well my question is What led fixture would be perfect for a 40g breeder 36" x 18" x 16". at least this or larger. i plan on mainly having zoas, lps and maybe a few sps down the road.
thanks in advance

Most with a 40 breeder go with 45 or 48 LEDs on either one 24" heatsink or two 12" heatsinks.

If your not into DIY the Apollo Light is the best bang for the buck

I'm thinking diy checked out a friends his was a diy with 3 watt Cree leds. My budget is around 400-500$ I've Bern r thinking apollo leds really nice and not to much

the only things that happen fast in this hobby are bad

$400-$500 will get you a nice DIY solderles setup, I personally would go with a 24" heat sink over 2 12" heat sinks, It looks cleaner that way. You should not need any optics for a 40B.
