Help! I have an unknown alien in my tank.

Saw this guy a few weeks ago...now is on my glass. What is it? Is it dangerous?? It moves like a snail but has arms like an octo!!! It is orange and about 2" long...with at least 8 arms in the front and one large appendage in the back. It was buried in the sand but now is on the glass....
