This morning I woke up and saw a few white spots on my blue tang. This usually happens here and there, but always goes away after a little copper dosed in the tank. Nobody else in the tank (6 tangs) gets ick besides the little blue tang. When I got home about 10 hours later, every fish had ick and is absolutely covered in it. All fish are eating and are acting normal, but this is something I have never seen before and never seen this come so quickly. I dosed the tank again a few minutes ago with the rest of the copper medication. What caused this rapid ick outbreak? Only new addition to the tank was a six line wrasse about two days ago. Other than that everything was normal for 5 months.

You’ll need a separate tank to treat.
Getting to and maintaining the therapeutic dose of copper in a tank, assuming you have rocks or sand, would be challenging/Impossible.

Yes, definitely velvet from reading all of that. Any advice on how to fix this? I am sure I am in for a rude awakening in the morning

Velvet. You’ll need to remove and treat all fish properly in fully therapeutic and stable copper and leave the display tank fallow for 76 days. Unfortunately velvet is extremely common these days and quite deadly. Dosing your DT will not take care of it easily, you’re likely to have to repeat treatments many times which is likely to kill your fish.
