new tank,dry rock?

Hello I just noticed this algae in my tank. Tank is fairly new. About 2 months old and the rock was dry rock. I have a few frags in there and 3 fish. I just noticed it from 1 day to the next. Any and all help is appreciated.

How do you know he needs to lower Po4 when he never posted his numbers? Could give him dinos to go along with that cyano by driving nutrients down.

Looks like new tank uglies, very common for dry rock. The red looks like cyanobateria, I would remove the cyano with the siphon hose when doing water changes and blow it off with turkey baster from time to time. As the tank matures it will go away.

just my opinion, dry rock covered in algae, def high phos

That is the start of Cyanobacteria or red slime.

You might want to look at your nutrients, and flow of your display, as it usually starts in stagnant areas.

The presence of algae lets you know No3 and Po4 are present but doesn't let you know what level they are at. When I started a system from dry rock I had to dose No3 and Po4 in the beginning.

my bad ,algae first reaction ,too high,i also sent them a follow up today thanks

+1 on the cyno. Lots of people get this on new tanks. But yeah keep an eye on your nutrients.
