Help id ailment on sailfin

See picture what looks like lesion on my sailfin, could this be disease or just a nick from live rock. After about 5 days of noticing the adjacent fin now looks like ich so am sure some irritation in area of mark.aby advice on how proceed is appreciated. I did give melafix but now I am running no skimmer cuz of foam which probably isn't helping

Hard to tell — it’s a common place for ich to start showing but also a common place for lymph to “begin”.

Can you provide more photos?

Is the the breathing heavily? Scratching? Flashing?

The mark on his side certainly looks more like an injury or the start of an infection (often enough, the same thing, as infections move in where injury provides an opening) than it does like ich.

I would like to see a more straight on shot of that pectoral fin, to see if those white spots might be ich or possibly just Lympho.

He is acting normal no scratching heavy breathing ECT. And can see eating well . I've been soaking food in garlic and/Or selcon

@Shannon Harlan That's too close to call IMO.

If it grows in size and/or remains on the fish for longer than 7 days, then it is most likely Lympho.

If it stays the same size and suddenly disappears within 3-7 days then it might be ich.

IMO... If it's eating and otherwise looking healthy, do nothing.

My Red Sea regal is getting the start of lymph like this in quarantine right now on the same fin and it’s tail. My call is lymph, but if it vanishes in 3-7 days or moves, it’s ich, as Humblefish mentioned.
