Yes there are other fish In the tank, I don't have a hospital tank. I'll had him for almost 3 months now. Would it go away with time or should I go buy a hospital tank.Seems like ich to me as well. If a hospital tank is available I'd move him there ASAP and begin treating with copper or cupramine...bring to therapeutic levels gradually and treat for 14-30 days. Are there other fish in the tank? How long have you had the tang?
How many other fish? Do you have coral and/or invertebrates? If it's a fish only I would (and have) treat the tank it's in. Unfortunately, it will limit future use too, from what I have read. You can set up a hospital tank for all fish, but be mindful of the water parameters.Yes there are other fish In the tank, I don't have a hospital tank. I'll had him for almost 3 months now. DT is full of corals other invertebrates, I've been feeding food soak in garlic and selcon. Heard Dr.G has a food that is reef safe. How many other fish? Do you have coral and/or invertebrates? Unfortunately, that is a moderately severe case of ich. Without prompt treatment it will be fatal and will spread to the other fish. My treatment of choice is coppersafe in a quarantine tank for all fish for 30 days, then wait two weeks and move the fish back. The is an alternative treatment called The Tank Transfer method. You basically move the fish into a large tote and outrun the disease by moving them.
